Educator - Author - Speaker - Graduate Researcher - Community Literacy Advocate

I believe every person carries stories worth preserving. Through education, research, storytelling, creative expression, and community partnerships, my mission is to help individuals and communites discover, celebrate, and share those stories while creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

    🌻 My Story 🌻

My journey began in the classroom, where I discovered that some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond textbooks and standardized assessments. As an educator, I watched students flourish when they were given opportunities to create, ask questions, tell stories, and connect learning to their own experiences.
Those experiences inspired me to continue my education as a graduate student while exploring community literacy, storytelling, cultural preservation, and creative expression. Today, that work continues through Voices & Raíces, my writing, research, speaking engagements, and collaborative partnerships with schools, families, and community organizations.
At the heart of everything I create is one belief:

Every voice matters. Every story belongs.

    🌻 A Few Things About Me 🌻

💛 Born and raised on the South Side of San Antonio, Texas.

    📚 First-generation college graduate.

🦋 Lifelong educator, learner, and storyteller.

🎨 Artist, writer, and creative thinker.

🌻 Believer that learning happens everywhere—not just in classrooms.

❤️ My favorite conversations usually begin with, "Tell me your story."

    🌻 My Philosophy 🌻

I don't believe education begins and ends within four classroom walls.

I believe literacy lives in family recipes, handwritten letters, murals, music, photographs, neighborhood stories, local libraries, community gatherings, and conversations around kitchen tables.

That's why my work extends beyond traditional educational settings. Whether I'm writing a book, facilitating a workshop, conducting research, speaking at a conference, or collaborating with a school district, my goal remains the same:

To create opportunities for people to discover the power of their own stories while building stronger, more connected communities through literacy and creativity.

    🌻 Let's Build Something Together 🌻

Whether you're an educator, school district, university, library, nonprofit, small business, or community organization, I'd love the opportunity to explore how we can collaborate.

Together, we can create meaningful learning experiences that celebrate stories, strengthen communities, and inspire lifelong learning.
